New portraits from a graduate shoot :)

so last night was a success! Check out some of the images I was able to capture at the shoot! Im not much of a flash guy in my own enjoyment but I love what understanding light and how to create it with flash can do for your images! :)

Family/graduationshoot!

Hey guys! New update :). So yesterday (last night) I went over to the Abreu Families home to take some portraits of the family along with graduation portraits! The shoot was about two hours and posed a challenge of space as we did this indoors. I brought along my medium sized umbrella, a medium/small reflector and an extra small soft box to use as lighting. It was a fun shoot and I hope to share some of the results here soon! In the meantime heres a sample! remember its just a sample ^_^.

And here is a Sample of how one of the setups looked like. Adjestments were made for the final image though :)

A short sidetrack from photography ;)

Hey guys. I promise to keep this blog as focused on photography as I possibly can, however today I wanna share a different aspect of my life.  As I have mentioned I practice Parkour actively. The other day my Friend wanted to test his new glide cam so I went ahead and performed a bit for the camera! :-)

Photoshoot with Sara

So today was a pretty nice day out in NYC and I went out to the local park to shoot some portraits of Sara. I only had my 17-50 2.8 and 70-300VC lenses on me with my D90 so made the best of it since I'm at least able to cover a nice range. I really wish I had my flash because I would have loved to get a shot of her with a sunset background as the colors at sunset were amazing. Instead we headed out at late mid afternoon knowing it would be an overcast and she would not be available during the golden hour of light at late afternoon. Overall I think the photos came out great and she is happy with the proofs. Now its time to head out to CT first thing tomorrow morning and edit her photos. I will post a few tomorrow afternoon.

One thing I learned from this shoot was that its becoming more and more aware to me that at least on a dx body, I really want to invest on a lens that's wider then 17mm for some shots. 17 is usually enough but when you really need wide, it falls short.

On top of today's successful outdoor shoot, I'm excited about Nikon's D4 announcement and the hint they have given about a D800 :) Will be doing some investing soon if these new tools prove useful.

Prospect Park Zoo

Hello guys, Seeing as I did'nt post any photo today because I decided last minute to leave my camera at home, I'd like to share a few very cute Red Panda Portrait I shot at the Prospect Park Zoo during the holidays. You know you want to hug it! :)

Work

So far this year looks like it will be a promising one! Starting to book clients and consult potential clients. I am going to really try to broaden my scope of photography this year. Not much to post right now as I decided to leave my camera home today when I went out to train. Tomorrow I plan to shoot so check in tomorrow for a photo of the shoot!
